Message about + to Fake Christians

Description

First off, I want to say sorry to everyone who came across a christian who certainly did not live up to the name. I know alot of people have been hurt by political figures, church goers, historical figures, people on the street, raging preachers, sheltering and smothering parents or family members, etc. who claimed to be people of God. It's my job as a Christian to take responsibility of apologizing. It's never right for someone to go through harassment for their beliefs.

Now. It's also my job to point out ANYTHING that goes against the word of Christ.

I find that many who profess to be Christians are not technically Christian at all. They either get so deeply involved in religious teachings and that their plentiful "good works" (or just plain faith) alone have put them in good standing with God. This gives them the delusion of freedom to feel like they are justified in hurting non-believers or those who go against the word of God, or even against them as a person.
Or even yet, they just use the title CHRISTIAN as a way of using fear for their goals. Let's take Hitler for example. Many people think of him as a Christian, who did some TERRIBLE things. In fact, these statements back up the fact that he was a Christian who felt justified in his actions:

:bulletblack:"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord." Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf,

:bulletblack: "My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter." Adolph Hitler, 1922

Alot of believers who have read into their history about Hitler couldn't even believe he was a Christian in the first place, since his actions certainly did not reflect on what the bible teaches of how Christians should be.Well, turns out, he was just wearing the title as a way to gain supporters or something of the like, and wasn't truly Christian at all.

:bulletred: "Christianity is an invention of sick brains," Adolf Hitler, 13 December 1941.

:bulletred: "So it's not opportune to hurl ourselves now into a struggle with the Churches. The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death," Adolf Hitler, 14 October 1941.

There are SO many examples I could point of for today, but I don't want to make a novel. Let's get back to the point.

These kinds of people complacently remain convinced that all is well with their soul. Sadly, many will live their entire lives believing they were Christians only to one day hear these words from Jesus Christ: "I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" (Matthew 7:23).

A true born Christian will strive to bring glory and honor to Christ by living a life that is pleasing to God. True saved faith will produce works or Fruits of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer (James 2:17,26). So if there are no works of love that reflect Christ in one's life, a careful self-examination is certainly called for.
"Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?" (2 Corinthians 13:5). If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, and does not reflect on Jesus's teachings, he does not belong to Christ (Romans 8:9). Thus, the term "fake Christian"is a misnomer. You are a Christian or you are not a Christian; one is either with God or against God (Matthew 12:30).

So if you are a Christian like you say you are, then show it the way Jesus intended you to.

EDIT: Now, I have to note that this does NOT mean we Christians have to be perfect. As the Christian matures in their faith, they will exhibit more and more evidence of their true Christian nature. This does NOT mean that Christians are not able to sin. The apostle John makes it clear that we deceive ourselves if we think otherwise (1 John 1:8). And when Christians do sin, rest assured there are multitudes just lying in wait to use their “slip-up” to further denigrate the true body of believers. What Christians will not do, however, is engage in repeated or habitual sin (1 John 3:6). One who engages in deliberate and habitual sin is simply proving that he does not know Christ and therefore cannot be abiding in Him even though he may live his life under the vast umbrella of religion and is thought, therefore, by many to be a Christian.

This is well said. I know of a girl who brought her Bible to school. I wanted to make friends with her, until I found out that the other day she just did something totally against the Bible. Hypocrites... I'll pray for them. :)
