"Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism." Acts 10:34

God does not show partiality or favoritism ( see also Deuteronomy 10:17; Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should we. God never uses the origin or culture of a person as the criteria of beauty or worth. People of one culture seldom see anything good in people of a different culture. In those days, only a divine revelation could convince Peter to enter a Gentile’s house and preach the gospel to him (Acts 10). Peter realized that God is unconcerned about a person’s origin or culture. God gladly accepts those who revere and obey Him. His concept of worth and beauty is uniquely different because He ignores cultural preferences and prejudices. All forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination are affronts to the work of Christ on the cross. In giving His life as a substitute for sin, Jesus Christ purchased for God with His blood "men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation" (Revelation 5:9).

In the Old Testament, God divided humanity into two “racial” groups: Jews and Gentiles. God’s intent was for the Jews to be a kingdom of priests, ministering to the Gentile nations. Instead, for the most part, the Jews became proud of their status and despised the Gentiles. Jesus Christ put an end to this, destroying the dividing wall of hostility (Ephesians 2:14).

As for skin-color (racism), Christianity was never intended for white people only. It should also be noted that God never declared any other color to be considered "evil" or "ungodly". The first Christians were all Semitic in ethnicity and likely had light- to dark-brown skin. Christianity having been predominantly a white religion in past centuries has nothing to do with the message of Christianity. Rather, it is due to the failure of Christians to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the world (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
